Movers & Shakers: NRS, 3M, and Others Announce New Appointments

National Renewable Solutions (NRS) has announced four key leadership promotions to support the company's ambitious growth plans.

• Lindsey Ransom has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) after serving as Chief Operating Officer (COO) since 2011. In her new role, she will oversee offtake origination strategy, commercial markets, regulatory affairs, policy, ESG, and communications.
• Mike Peck, previously Senior Vice President (SVP) of Operations, has been promoted to COO. With 16 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, Mike will now focus on enhancing NRS's operational capabilities.
• Vineet Parkhe, who joined NRS in 2023 as SVP of Engineering, has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer (CTO). He will lead technical innovation and efficiency across NRS’s development, construction, and operational activities.
• Ben Klassen, formerly General Counsel, will now serve as Chief Legal Officer (CLO), where he will direct legal strategy and risk management as the company continues its expansion.

3M has appointed Anurag Maheshwari as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective September 1, 2024. Maheshwari transitions from Otis Worldwide Corporation, where he served as EVP and CFO, bringing with him extensive experience in strategic planning, operations, investor relations, and business transformation. His leadership is expected to bolster 3M’s financial operations as the company navigates its future business strategies.

The Association for Decentralised Energy (ADE) has expanded its leadership with the appointment of three Members of Parliament as Vice Presidents: Wera Hobhouse MP, Alex Sobel MP, and Bill Esterson MP. The new Vice Presidents will advocate for net zero targets, industrial decarbonization, and energy efficiency in UK homes and workplaces. Their collective experience in the energy sector is anticipated to provide strong political backing for ADE’s objectives.

The University of Birmingham has named Zoe Hurley as its new Head of Sustainability. Zoe, a committed advocate for environmental and social change, previously served as Head of Sustainability at HM Courts & Tribunals Service.

Modern Hydrogen has appointed Amir Moftakhar as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Moftakhar joins the cleantech company from previous roles including CFO at ESS Inc. and positions at Sempra Energy and San Diego Gas and Electric, with deep experience in leading clean energy startups to success.

Origami Solar announced the appointment of Tim Polega as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). With 30 years of energy sector experience, Polega will lead sales, business development, and marketing. His background includes executive roles at renewable energy companies and expertise in business transformation. Polega's appointment aims to accelerate Origami's growth as the industry shifts towards domestically produced steel solar module frames.
